Scholarships for Students with LD

’Tis the season to get college applications in—and for many, that includes looking for scholarships to help offset the ever-increasing cost of higher education. According to FinAid, “a good rule of thumb is that tuition rates will increase at about twice the general inflation rate.” That means your college costs will likely rise about 3% each year—an amount that drives many families to seek financial aid.

For students with learning challenges, whose GPA doesn’t necessarily reflect their talents and abilities, qualifying for scholarships can be another barrier to college entry. But fortunately, there are several scholarships designed especially for students with LD.

The College News and Advice blog from Money has compiled a list of nine scholarships for students with learning challenges. The awards range from $1,000 up to $10,000. Among those listed is our Smart Kids with LD Youth Achievement Award given annually to a student with LD or ADHD that has accomplished great things and left an indelible mark on his or her community.
