Smart Kids Members
Frequently Asked Questions

What does my membership include?

Your Smart Kids membership includes eight issues a year of the newsletter (view sample here), your information-packed New Member Kit, and online access to your Members Area, which currently archives every issue of the newsletter published since its beginning in 2000.

Does Smart Kids share my membership information?

No. Smart Kids will not share the personal information you provide with any third party, except strictly as necessary to process payments. See our Privacy Policy.

How do I log in to the members area?

There is a members log-in area in the blue band at the top of every SmartKidsWithLD.org page. The very first time you log in, enter the temporary Member ID and Password sent to you by Smart Kids after you joined; then follow the instructions to create your own personal password. You will need to do this only once. From then on, simply enter the personal Member ID and Password you created.

What if I don't have an email address?

You don't need an email address, home access to the Internet, or even a home computer to enjoy your Smart Kids membership benefits. Both your New Members package and each issue of the Smart Kids newsletter are printed and mailed to you.

But, to enter your Members Area online, you will need an address where you can receive email, so that Smart Kids can send you your personal Member ID and Password. If you do not currently have a valid email address, you can get a free one from a number of sources. Most internet service providers [i.e., your dial-up, DSL, or cable service] offer each customer at least one free email address. If you would prefer to use an email address different from the one your ISP provides — or if you are accessing the Smart Kids website from a computer that belongs to a library, Internet cafe, or other third party — you can use web-based email. Many sites, including Yahoo, Google, Hotmail, and others, provide free web-based email.

How do I get an ID and password from Smart Kids?

You must join Smart Kids to receive a temporary ID and password, which you can use to create your own personal Member ID and Password. If you join by mail, your ID will be mailed to you; if you join online, your ID will be instantly emailed to you.

Why do I go from smartkidswithld.org to plus24.safe-order.net when I try to join, register or retrieve my password?

Safe-order.net is the secure server for smartkidswithld.org. When you access smartkidswithld.org via safe-order.net, your connection is encrypted for your privacy. Safe-order.net is maintained by OLM LLC in cooperation with Smart Kids.

I lost the Member ID and Password that Smart Kids sent me. Can I retrieve them online?

No. The online instant retrieval system works only for permanent Member IDs and passwords that members create for themselves after they join. The Member ID and password sent to you by Smart Kids are temporary. If you lose them before creating your personal and permanent Member ID and password, Contact Smart Kids.
